Byron Cooper litigates patents before federal district courts, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, and counsels clients regarding patent prosecution, Inter Partes Reviews, trade secrets, and infringement and the validity of patents.
Technology experience includes digital video encoding, decoding, and optical disc processing, microprocessors/ computer architecture, computer DRAM and FLASH memory, disk drive technology, TV electronic program guide software, video and sound transmission processing, wireless local area networks, and satellite communications, among others.
Over the past ten years the Patent Statute, Patent Office rules and procedures, and interpretation of the patent law by the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals have changed drastically. Yet, technology continues to advance at an ever increasing pace.
