TekLaw’s technology law practice is focused on achieving our client's business goals through litigation in state and federal courts, Inter Partes Reviews, and technology procurement, licensing, and counseling.
For the past 25 years Byron Cooper has litigated technology and business disputes before state and federal district courts, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals. TekLaw’s practice includes Inter Partes Reviews and related litigation involving infringement and the validity of patents, license agreements, trade secrets, and other business litigation.
Mr. Cooper has experience in technologies including microprocessors, computer architecture, DRAM and FLASH memory, disk drives, digital video encoding, decoding, and optical disc processing, lasers, program coding and software, video and sound transmission processing, wireless local area networks, satellite communications, medical devices and processes, semiconductor fabrication and processes, among others.
Over the past fifteen years the Patent Statute, Patent Office rules and procedures, and interpretation of the patent law by the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals and the US Supreme Court have changed dramatically. It has become increasingly difficult to enforce patents, but technology continues to advance at an ever increasing pace. Business success in this environment requires an understanding of changes in technology law and procedure to protect investments.
